Students & Medication

If your son or daughter needs to take ANY type of medication (prescription or over the counter), he or she must bring it into school and give it to the school nurse immediately.  Students are NOT permitted to bring in any type of medicine, cough syrup, inhaler, etc. to school and keep it in their desk or school bag.  If you have any issues or concerns about your son or daughter and his/her medication, please feel free to call the school, and ask to speak to the school nurse.

Student Absences

If, for any reason, your son or daughter is absent from school you must provide a note within 3 days of the student being absent describing why he or she missed school.  If a child misses three or more days of school in a row, you must call the school and tell the school nurse or classroom teacher.  A child is considered “truant” (absent illegally) if a note or doctor’s note is not given when he or she comes back to school. When the student has 3 illegal absents a Legal Notice will be sent home, when 10 illegal absents are recorded the student will be sent to Truancy Court.
